I'm with SIX on this. Jesus used strong hyperbolic langauge to describe the same kinds of self serving hypocrites of his day. As pointed out earlier to use the age range of 16 - 66 it is 50 years (not 40) that these predators roam the Halls and homes looking for their next victim. It is imposible to say what number of victims is the average but it would seem to be sizable. Think of one victim every 5 years that would amount to 10 during this 50 year period time. No one knows. But the point that Amazing is making is that it is a sizable number running into the 10's of thousands is believable.

The Pedophile Paradise
by Amazing inthe pedophile problem among the jws is very significant.
over a year ago i made some extrapolations from a poll on jwd that conservatively suggested about 5,300 jw molesters in the usa, or about (1) jw pedophile for every (2) jw congregations in the united states.
given that pedophiles molest many victims, at least 70 or more in their criminal careers by conservative estimates, this can add up to a lot of victims --- not all are necessarily jw victims --- but still the collective crimes of jw pedophiles would average over 370,000 victims.. since that time that over 5,000 victims have come forward to email, phone, and write letters to silentlambs --- as stated last night on connie chung/cnn.

It was well established on another simular thread that a way to a women's heart is by fixing things. Tim Allen the tool man out ranks who ever is today's "Mr Romance." I think if I did all you suggest I would be hospitalised in a month with a nervous condition. Come to think of it I am close to that now.... Twitch Twitch Twitch.... Oh the 'naked, food, TV' thing works for me. Us men are quite simple and proud of it. It's True!

The Bubble Factor in Being a Witness
by Mindchild inthe bubble factor in being a witness
about two days ago after i had the pleasure of listening to my housemate verbally pound a couple of unlucky witnesses who knocked on our door.
i was sitting in my easy chair this evening eating a piece of apple pie and was struck by this overwhelming revelation, almost an epiphany.

Mindchild this is the best piece I have ever read about understanding Jw's. Thank You! I believe it is true that most of us live our lives in a dream and it is only times of crisis, danger or unusual happenings that we become awake. It's easy to drift off. Thanks again, Dave

even if the "new system" never comes
by ConnieLynn inlast night i called to do the "check-in" thing on my mom.
she had just been to the assembly and she was all fired up and decided to give me an earful.
apparently, at the assembly all in attendance were told that "this is it" the end is nigh and they should do all they can to prepare for the impending destruction about to befall everyone.

My mothers response when I talked to her about the "truth" was "I don't want to be disturbed in my beliefs" It is funny but she was a master at disturbing other people in their beliefs when she was the most productive pioneer in her circuit. I can only say that GB and the others are right on with their remarks, Dave

On The Art Of Fading
by expatbrit inin october of 2000, i faded away from the watchtower.
like most people, i have family and friends who are jw's (including my wife and parents).
fading is generally the best method for people in that situation.

I've got this one saved. Thanks for the well thought out post. My JW ex-wife drives by 2 -3 times a week at 2 and 3 in the morning to where I stay to check to see if there is a cute little sports car parked next to my truck. This has been going on for 2 and a half years. I figured she has driven 22,750 miles so far in her qwest to get me DF'd. So if their out to get you, you can run but you can not hide. Dave

What Women Want In A Man...
by Englishman inaccording to her ladyship's group of pals, what today's woman wants in a man, is the ability to fix things!.
so many chaps are totally inept when it comes to climbing ladders, wielding a screwdriver or wiping a joint, that wives are getting a little pe'ed off with men who just want to show their feminine side.
todays woman wants her man to be a do-er, a fixer, a man who creates, a man who can and does!

Thank you and goodbye.
by Cath ini have been coming to this forum since around september 2001 and although i haven't had much to say i have gained a lot by just coming here and reading.
i have laughed and cried and got really angry along with posters here and have enjoyed most of my time here.
now i am moving to the country to be with my daughter and her kids and i won't have internet access there which is a good thing because it will get me out from behind this screen.
